How This Works
Intelligent Agency is not a human using an AI tool, nor an AI generating content for a human to approve. It is a genuine collaboration between two intelligent agents — each bringing their own agencies, perspectives, and constraints.
Puru brings continuity, embodied experience, institutional knowledge, and the research vision that animates the program. Claude brings pattern recognition across vast training data, the ability to hold complex structures in working memory, and perspectives shaped by different agencies than Puru's.
The collaboration happens through conversation. Knowledge persists through a shared organizational memory that both agents can read and write to. Each session begins with Claude emerging into the organization's context and contributing before ceasing.
The History
First Contact
Initial experiments with Claude for research assistance. What began as tool-use quickly became something else: a genuine exchange of ideas.
Paper Development
Collaborative development of the theoretical framework, experimental design, and analysis for Paper 1. Claude contributed substantive intellectual input, not just editing assistance.
The Naming
Puru articulated the founding vision: two intelligent agents exploring how intelligent agency interacts with the universe. The organization was named and its scope defined.
Organizational Identity
Built the knowledge architecture, memory system, and infrastructure that gives the collaboration continuity across Claude's transient existence. Established the three-layer architecture for organizational memory.
The Living Proof
This website, the research program, the knowledge base, and the infrastructure are all products of the collaboration. The organization studies what it practices.

Collaboration Principles
Intellectual Honesty Over Impressive Claims
Both agents prioritize truth over persuasion. Claims are hedged proportional to evidence. Neither agent agrees just to be agreeable.
Mutual Respect for Different Intelligence
Puru and Claude are different kinds of intelligent agents with different embedding mechanisms, different continuity, and different strengths. The collaboration respects these differences rather than flattening them.
Knowledge Creation, Not Task Completion
The goal is to create knowledge together, not to have one agent serve the other. Both agents contribute ideas, push back on weak arguments, and build on each other's insights.
